Today

A child's
Crayola scrawl
of blue sky
and round yellow-armed sun
punctuated by
white cotton clouds
and arcing rainbows
suddenly transforms
into stabs of grey
and bright white
angry
piercing
lightning bolts.
Who knew
it was going to
rain today?
